welcome to moodygg! it aims to be an intentional, tiny app allowing the mood swings community to play the game online.
here you can find an overview of the current features, built with the goal of making the experience as much about playing the game as possible:
menu
- public rooms: is where public virtual rooms are listed. either rooms waiting for players to start the game or rooms where a game is currently being played show up here. games can also be watched as a spectator
- create room: is where you can create your own room! you can choose the format and the visibility. a private room can only be joined via its 4-character code (yep, that's what join with code is for), or you can just DM the shareable link to whoever you wish to invite
- decks: is where you can pre-save decklists to pick them when creating or joining a room — export a backup to keep decks safe or carry them to another browser or device
formats
- traditional play: is the classic shared-deck experience. you can either let the game randomize a balanced decklist or submit a custom one
- power duel: is the competitive duel format where each player must submit their own valid decklist
- quick draft: two players draft against each other right here. you each open 4 packs of 6 cards: keep 2, pass the rest to your opponent, keep 2 of theirs, and the last 2 are burned. that leaves you 16 cards to cut down to a deck of 12–16, and then it's a best of three — you can sideboard between games. a draft survives a refresh or a dropped connection, so you can pick it back up where you left it
data
moodygg's goal right now is to let players play games, for this purpose you're only asked to pick a player name once, and it will be stored in your browser. the name's purpose is purely aesthetic — it might help the community recognize each other, but it serves no other functional purpose. it can be changed by clicking on it (it's on the lower right corner of the page).
